The game focuses on cooperative play as players form a team of heroes to stop Thanos and The Black Order from collecting all six Infinity Stones.

Whereas The Black Order is the third game of the Ultimate Alliance series, the story is new and unrelated to the previous two games. This third entry achieves the first game’s original concept of cell-shaded graphics, and it works really well, making the characters vibrant and reflecting their comic backgrounds.

Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 features characters from multiple Capcom franchises as well as dozens of Marvel characters. Players choose three characters to use in multiple game modes, including Arcade, Versus, and Mission Mode.

The 2.5D cartoon graphics look slick and the combos are true to each character, including Thor using Mjolnir to call down lightning to dispatch his opponent. Players will want to grab an arcade stick for the most authentic combat experience.

Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite is the sequel to Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, and while it didn’t live up to fan expectations, it still delivers a good crossover combat experience. Once again, players assemble a team of three characters from Capcom and Marvel history to battle their opponent.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite moved to a more 3D cell shaded look, adding a new dimension to the characters. While the fights and combos look very good and work well, the better overall experience is the predecessor to this sequel.

However, in 2017 Disney parted ways with Gazillion Entertainment, the game’s developer, and shut down the game in 2017. It lasted six years online and proved that a Marvel MMO can work.
