Epic Games Store Reveals Two Free Games For Next Week, Including Day One Horror Game

[ad_1]

The Epic Games Store is perhaps the most reliable gaming service for when it reveals and adds new games, with the service revealing and releasing new games every Thursday like clockwork, including October 20th. Last week, the Epic Games Store shadow dropped the horror game dark wood when adding the previously advertised ToeJam & Earl: Back in the groove. Today, these two titles are replaced by Evoland Legendary Edition and Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 hardly needs an introduction, but Evoland Legendary Edition is a genre action-adventure meta-RPG. This game takes players through the history of action-adventure RPGs, where players change technologies, game systems and graphics throughout the game. It takes fans from monochrome to 3D graphics, from active-time battles to real-time boss battles, and more. Epic Games Store users will be able to claim them until October 27, when the newly announced titles will replace them.

Saturnalia and Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus will be available from October 27 to November 3. For many, Saturnalia may be the big draw because it’s a roguelike horror adventure game, but also because it’s releasing day one on the Epic Games Store. This doesn’t happen often with EGS. In Saturnalia, players are trapped in a village that changes each time a character dies, must manage a supply of matches for sight and for puzzles, and eventually discover abilities and tools to progress. It promises a non-linear, dynamic and adaptive narrative where players must investigate the ritual at the heart of the game and somehow stop it.

Meanwhile, Warhammer 40K: Mechanics is a turn-based tactical game where players must lead the Adeptus Mechanicus as Magos Dominus Faustinius on the Necron planet of Silva Tenebris. Decisions impact the fate of a player’s troops and missions further into the story, while players must also manage their team, resources, new technologies, and every move of the Tech-Priest. It’s not exactly a Halloween horror game, but it has its own style that makes it a great addition.

Of course, no game can appeal to everyone, and even with the Epic Games Store’s weekly cadence, some months are going to be better or worse for some users. The Epic Games Store has released a lot of great games, but that’s inherently subjective. At the very least, if fans have already played or aren’t interested in Fallout 3, Evoland Legendary Edition, Saturnalia or Warhammer 40K: Mechanicusthey know they will receive more free games on November 3rd. These free titles will no doubt be announced on October 27th.

Epic Games Store users receive a handful of games each month.
