Epic Games Store’s free game deals are refreshed every Thursday at 10 a.m. CT, so users should have two more games to claim right now while taking note of what’s in store for next week.
Current free games from Epic Games Store are The Spirit of the North and The captain. Both games will be available to Epic Games Store users until September 22, when they will be replaced by the next pair of free games. For those unfamiliar with current offers, The Spirit of the North is an adventure game based on Nordic folklore where players take on the role of a fox. The captain is a very different game, more focused on players making choices as if they were a star trek captain.
The Spirit of the North and The captain are the current Epic Games Store free games, but starting September 22, users can grab ARK: Survival Evolved and dark haven. Whereas The Spirit of the North and The captain can have their fans, it’s safe to say that ARK: Survival Evolved and dark haven are much higher profile games, and so next week’s Epic Games Store free games should be particularly exciting.

Now Epic Games Store users who haven’t played yet ARK can see what it’s all about without paying a penny.
dark haven, meanwhile, is the video game version of the tabletop game of the same name. Offering single-player and online co-op options, dark haven received mostly positive reviews when it first launched on PC in 2021. A console version of dark haven It’s slated to release in 2023 at some point, but Epic Games Store users will be able to play the game for free starting September 22.
