Since June, a new subscription model has been in place for PlayStation; it now has multiple tiers costing different amounts. Sony basically extended PS Plus by adding two additional subscription tiers: Extra and Premium. And PS Plus is now called PS Plus Essentials and will remain exactly as it was.

Those who upgrade to PS Plus Extra will receive 400 PS4 and PS5 games “for free”. At the Premium level, retro titles from PS1, PS2, and even PS3 are included. The full list of games for PS Plus Extra and Premium can be found here.

But in this article we’re talking about the classic PS Plus free monthly games that even essential users also get access to. We will cross predictions and leaks for the coming months, and we’ll confirm each title as soon as possible. So, let’s get to that important question: what are the free PlayStation Plus games this month, and are they any good?

Essential PS Plus Games September 2022 | Predictions and Leaks

So far we haven’t had any leaks regarding the September 2022 free PlayStation Plus games, but we can make some educated predictions based on what we’ve had so far. Here are our predictions:

  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Just like when Sony gave us God of War to get us ready for Ragnarök, we expect them to give us AC: Black Flag to get us in the mood for skull bones.
  • Match Point – Tennis Championship: They always give us at least one trash game that no one wants just to fill space.

What do you think? Would you like to see these games, or would that be a disappointment? We all know you’re probably waiting for the Game of the Year In any event…

Essential PS Plus Games August 2022 | Confirmed

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 (PS4, PS5)

  • User Note: 8.7
  • Rating of critics: 89

It’s not only a great nostalgic hit, it’s also one of the best remakes in a while as well as one of the very few skating games in a long time. For anyone who loved these games or loves fun sports games, it’s a must have game. It’s a fantastic package with all the content from the first two Pro Skater games, plus quality improvements and new music. You need to check this, no questions.

Unfortunately, developers Vicarious Visions were hired to create Diablo Immortal, and other remakes of classic games have been put on ice. Getting those early games for free is a nice consolation, though.

Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon (PS4, PS5)

  • User Note: 8.3
  • Rating of critics: 86

Another slam dunk for next month’s PS Plus lineup. The Yakuza series is absolutely fantastic and Yakuza 7 is no exception. If you like goofy comedy and serious, brilliant storytelling, you have to play this, because Yakuza is great at both. The latest Yakuza title game also introduced a fantastic JRPG system and has a sequel in development. Even if you’ve never played a Yakuza game before, don’t let the high number scare you off: Like a dragon is a reboot with a whole set of new characters and locations, so you can even start with this one.

Little Nightmares (PS4)

  • User Note: 8.1
  • Rating of critics: 78

The most specialized game in this range is still a certified banger. Every Horror Game Fan Must Check Out Little Nightmaresif they haven’t already. It’s a very smart and scary little game with amazing visual style and very clever puzzles and stunning atmosphere.

These are your PS Plus games of the month. Definitely check out these games, chances are you’ll have a great time with at least one of them.
