Prime Gaming September 2022 Free Games Revealed

Prime Gaming, one of the gaming industry’s best-kept secrets, is about to reward Amazon Prime members with another batch of free games. The September lineup features eight titles, including some award-winning blockbusters.

The highlight of the lineup is easily Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Although this game was released in 2014, it still holds up. Based on the legend created by JRR Tolkien, the story takes place between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings film trilogies as you play as Talion, a Gondor Ranger who bonds with the specter of an Elf Lord named Celebrimbor. Together, the two embark on a quest to avenge the deaths of their loved ones.

Aside from the story, what really sets Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor apart from other third-person action-adventure games is its Nemesis system. This complex set of AI systems helps track the Uruk you encounter. This creates a complex web of orcs, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and relationship to the player. Defeating these bosses helps weaken Sauron’s overall army while providing valuable buffs to Talion.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was one of my favorite games back then, so I’m really looking forward to playing it again. But that’s not the only game we get.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will also be free next month. The 2017 installment of Ubisoft’s critically acclaimed action-adventure series takes players to the majestic lands of ancient Egypt where they will explore the origins of the long-running feud between the Hidden Ones (precursors of the Brotherhood of Assassins) and the Order of the Ancients (precursors to the Order of the Templars).
