The biggest new video games released the week of 8/29/22 AIPT

The summer of gaming is coming to an end, but the big releases haven’t stopped yet! While waiting for major releases in the fall of 2022, such as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and God of the war Ragnaroklet’s see what comes out this week.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection (8/30)

On the heels of smash-hit The Shredder’s RevengeTMNT fans enjoy even more turtles games before the end of the summer. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection collects 13 retro TMNT games originally released between 1989 and 1993. The games were originally released for the arcades, Game Boy, NES, SNES or Sega Genesis. The collection will see new features added like button mapping, save states, and online multiplayer for select titles. Never-before-seen artwork from the games’ development will be showcased in an in-game museum.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R (9/1)

Anime fans are in for a treat with the release of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R. It remasters the 2013 original star battle from CyberConnect2 and adds updated combat mechanics, new characters and more stages. Over 50 characters are playable from the series’ eight arcs, plus Ikuro Hashizawa from Hirohiko Araki’s previous series Bah. The game is party Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure35th anniversary of the manga and 10th anniversary of the anime.

The Last of Us Part I (9/2)

The long rumored and recently confirmed The Last of Us Part I the remake officially launches for the PS5 this week. The remake will improve the visuals of the first game, bring its character design closer Part IIincorporate haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, and add a host of accessibility options. While many fans wondered why such a recent (and recently remastered) game was being remade – and for a $70 price tag – the game was potentially created because Naughty Dog’s Other Projects Haven’t Entered Production Yet and this remake gave the devs something to do (re: not get fired). Either way, the game looks amazing and more The last of us is never a bad thing.
